Relax It’s Sunday

This week was quiet for the most part.  I ordered my books to start my classes this week, only five left and I finally get to complete my degree.  The best part is that the degree is simply a back up plan.  I don’t know if I will go after the master’s or not.  I took it pretty easy as far as drinks go this week just a little bourbon no beer until Friday and Saturday.  I did make some great food, and had a great time with friends last night.  French dip sandwiches, some crazy pizza monkey bread thing, I made pumpkin pie tarts and chocolate covered strawberries.  The beer was flowing, and so was the Captain and Cokes.  Which after two ended my night sleeping on the floor.  Good Times.

I’ll be 36 this year and finally finishing my degree.  I have had a few interruptions along the way, Iraq, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, but in the end it will be nice to finally complete it.  I may chase the Masters in homeland security but that will have to wait until next year.  Like I said earlier I am doing all of this for my back up plan. schooling In four years I hope to get my real estate license.  I would like to make some property investments.  I get to retire in about 9 years with 20 years of active service and more than 25 years of military service.  Then I finally get to grow up and join the real world.  Shit. ”

Work was pretty busy this week as I continue to form a great team in the office.  With a busy week came a great Friday and Saturday.  I got to meet some neighbors that I didn’t know existed.  I usually talk to the people who surround my house and that s about it.  They are all pretty much retired with the exception of two.  It’s nice and quiet and I don’t have to bother anyone.  Friday I got to meet a handful of people that live in the community and they were all pretty cool.  It was like being in a different world, I don’t know if I will get together with these folks again but at least we have expanded past the stop sign of meeting some of the folks in the neighbor hood.

Saturday was great, made pumpkin pie tarts and chocolate covered strawberries.  I was in charge of deserts for the “Old ass high school friends” party, or in adult language “Get Together”.  I brought some ShipYard Pumpkin beer and quickly ran through those.  We did a few shots and than I began on the Captain and Cokes.  This all lead up to me falling asleep on the living room floor by 11 o’clock. sleepy That’s right children lasted longer then me, and there are pics to prove it.  See I told you so.  All in all it was a great week, and any time you can get together with great friends and travel a little is always nice.
