DOW (Drinks of the Week): Sly Fox Brewing Company

These dudes have been killing beer for nearly 25 years.  They have raked in awards and are one of the best brewpubs in the U.S.  Sly Fox Brewing Company makes a wide array of brews ranging from Irish Style Stouts, American Lagers, to German Pilsners.  There are far too many for me to try in one week, but I will give four of them hell this week.  They have too many awards to list but I think the coolest thing is their 360-degree lid, MIND BLOWN!  Onto the FACTS, Cheers!!!!!!

The Facts:  Helles Golden Lager

ABV:  4.9%

IBU’s: 18

Style: German Style Lager

WAS IT GOOD:  I always enjoy a good lager and this was one of them.  Easy to drink good classic lager flavor with nothing weird going on.   Of the 4 beers, I tried from Sly Fox this was my favorite.  Smooth and easy to drink.  Just look at that can.

GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: Oh yeah, anytime I can get a good tasting Lager in the fridge I will.

The Facts:  Pikeland Pils

ABV:  4.9%

IBU’s: 44

Style: German-Style Pilsner

WAS IT GOOD:  I loved the smell of it, is that odd.  The taste was good but for whatever reason, my sniffity doo doo was drawn to this guy.  I am not going to tell you that this is the best Pilsner I have ever had but it was good.  I think that if I changed my setting from jammies and chillin on the couch to hanging with the boys watchin football, it may have been different.

GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: I would put this guy in there.  He would most def not survive a get-together.  It’s one of those beers you just keep reaching for.

The Facts:  Vulpulin

ABV:  6.0%

IBU’s: 60

Style: India Pale Ale

WAS IT GOOD:  Look my opinions on IPA’s is not great.  For starters, I don’t care for too many of them and generally, they are a to hoppy for me.  Yeah, I got it I got it.  To each his own though.  This brew is a good IPA if you’re looking for that kind of thing.

GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: I will because I got a lot of friends that enjoy a good IPA and I don’t like to disappoint.

The Facts:  SRT (Schuylkill River Trail)

ABV:  4.8%

IBU’s: 40

WAS IT GOOD:  First off a piece of the proceeds from this brew go to the Schuylkill River Trail.  So basically by drinking this brew, you are also being charitable and charity is good.  Go out and support something.  Oh, by the way, it’s not bad either.

GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: FOR CHARITY?  LET’S FILL THAT JOKER UP.
