This week we give you Idaho’s largest craft brewery, Payette Brewing Company. These guys are making beer hand over fist and feature a ton of great brews. They have plenty of year-round brews and then some limited releases as well. This week we will be trying out two of their brews “Recoil” and “Rodeo.”
The Facts: Recoil
ABV: 6.5%
IBU’s: 80
Style: India Pale Ale
WAS IT GOOD: I think the recoil is when my head snaps back from that IPA flavor. Personally not a fan of IPA’s only because the market is saturated with them these days. Recoil didn’t come off like most that I have had though, it had a good flavor profile. It was nice to enjoy them while watching some football this past weekend.
GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: If you got room put them in there.
The Facts: Rodeo
ABV: 4%
IBU’s: 35
Style: Citra Pale Ale
WAS IT GOOD: Saddle up cowboy it’s Rodeo time. This was my favorite of the two. It had a much smoother taste to it. I like the hint of fruity notes inside of this one. I could have had about ten of these guys if I didn’t have to work the next day.
GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: Yes, this is a good end of work week brew. Good color good flavor.
SOME OTHER BREWS FROM THIS WEEK:
Mother of Dragons was good, Elysian never disappoints, and I could easily pass on the Shuckin Pumpkin.
The HIghlight of the week was on Halloween Night. One of the Neighbors a few years ago created the Halloween Mobile Bar. People search the area each year just to get an adult beverage free of charge, if you are 21 and over.
