Eagles vs. Cowboys : Start of the New Season

8 More games to go and the Eagles are loading up to make a run.  This past week the Birds made a trade to acquire another offensive threat in Golden Tate.   The Eagles look to have a second half season run starting with a division foe, the Dallas Cowboys.  The Eagles Defense currently ranks in the top ten in Points allowed (19.5 p/g), and in the top five for Rushing yards allowed (2nd 83 p/g).  The Offense is middle of the road with just averaging 22.3 points per game.  That’s a field goal difference, which doesn’t get it done in this league.

The Defense has been good for the most part this season.  Their mistakes have just be magnified because they have been late in the game and giving up big leads.  Hopefully Jernigan returns the front 4 can start to put some pressure on these QB’s and perhaps move the plus minus ratio in our favor.  The Eagles are currently ranked 25th in turnover diff.  Not good.

With the addition of Golden Tate the Eagles look to add more points to the board so these games want be so close each week.  He has 44 catches for 517 yards this season.  Currently the closest Eagle to those numbers is Zach Ertz with 61 for 644, the Tight End.  Golden Tate draws some needed attention to help free up Jeffery’s, Agholor, and the tight ends.  I would expect the Eagles scoring to go up by at least a touchdown more over the next 8 games.  We haven’t lost a game by more than 6 points this season.   If the Defense can remain the same then we could be looking at nice run to end the season.

5 of the next 8 games for the Eagles come from within the division.  The other three will be difficult games as the still have to play the Saints, Rams, and Texans.  Saints and Rams are road games, although difficult they will be winnable games.

The new Season begins the Sunday at 8:20 in South Philly as the Eagles look to put away the Cowboys.

Final Score 28-17 BIRDS!!!!!!!!!
