For the Philadelphia area, Wawa is the king of convenient stores. For many years they have continued to improve on their quality food and service. Their hoagies (Subs for non-Philly folks) and coffee have been their featured items over the years but they changed the game when they took a shot at making their own beer. Well, they didn’t really make their own, they joined up with the experts at 2SP Brewing Company to make a Coffee Stout.
THE FACTS: This beer isn’t the easiest to get if you’re not in Philadelphia. Delaware doesn’t carry the beer in it’s Wawa’s because of state laws. You have to drive to PA and find it. The day it was released the tri-state area went nuts trying to get its hand on it. I waited patiently and a good buddy of mine came through. This elusive little guy is now mine to enjoy.
THE BEER: Wawa Coffee Stout (Photo is from kellygx365)
STYLE: Oatmeal Stout (Blended with Wawa Signature Coffee)
WAS IT GOOD: Damn right. This guy had a delicious coffee taste and a great stout mix. I see why this thing is difficult to get a hold of. I could sit and enjoy a few of these sitting by the fireplace. 2SP Brewing makes good beers so it’s no surprise that this was a good one. I would most def have this one to start an early morning tailgate session at the Eagles Games.
GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION: Yeah this beer could find a way in the fridge no problem.
