DOW (Drinks of the Week) : Bridgeport Brewing Company

We get a chance to try our Oregon’s original craft brewery in Bridgeport Brewing Company but at the same time they have now stopped production and are scheduled to close completely this month.  WTF.  Well, I guess we will try out their brew for the first and last time.  Check out BEERVANA, a beer blogger from the Portland area as he describes the demise of this long-standing brewer.  Enough of the chit chat lets get onto the beers.

THE BEER:  Original Bridgeport IPA

ABV:  5.5%

IBU:  50

STYLE:  India Pale Ale

WAS IT GOOD:  It was okay.  Nothing to go crazy for.

GARAGE FRIDGE ADDITION:  Christ no.  They aren’t going to make it anymore.  Shame too, I hate to see businesses close up.

THE BEER:  Kingpin

ABV:  7.5%

IBU:  65

STYLE:  Double Red Ale

WAS IT GOOD:  A Couple weeks ago we had a red ale from O’SO Brewing company so it was nice to have a comparison beer.  O’SO had a better flavor profile.  I assume this was part of the final batches for Bridgeport so maybe not as much love put into it.

It’s Saint Paddy’s day this weekend – Have fun, be safe DRINK SOME GREAT BEER!!!!!!! CHEERS!!!!!!
