This isn’t going to get any easier to say, but TRADE NICK FOLES! Look it’s nice and romantic to sit back and think that he can stay the back up for Carson Wentz. I also know that we need to have something stable just in case Carson can’t come back right away. This is all well and good, but the goal is not to be one and done. The goal is to keep adding pieces to this team to sustain long-term success. If you are able to get 1 or 2 early round picks for Nick Foles then you take it. Sell when the Stock is high. Well the unthinkable has happened and the Philadelphia Eagles have made it to the Super Bowl to face off against the New England Patriots. The Eagles have defied all odds to make here. They weren’t the fan favorite, they didn’t have the toughest schedule, they lost player after player including the franchise QB. They got a back up that thought about retirement just a year prior. Each playoff game they were doubted and made the underdogs event though they had the best record in the league. Nick Foles was touted as a bum and wouldn’t win a playoff game. Hell even the coach at one time was considered to be below average and unqualified. With all of that the Eagles and their true fans stood there with their arms folded, that blue-collar stare, and calmly said F@#$ You with each passing victory. On Feb 4th the Philadelphia Eagles and the City of Philadelphia will finally get what they truly deserve and that is the Lombardi Trophy. Continue reading “Eagles vs. Patriots (Super Bowl)”
The Eagles have finally gotten back to the promise land and they were able to do it with a back up in Nick Foles. What a game, the Eagles completely dominated what was the number 1 defense in the league. The birds have taken on the persona of the underdog and love it. No team has worked harder for it then this one. It’s our time, it’s Philly’s time. The Eagles are Finally headed back to the big Dance. Continue reading “Headed to the Dance”
Well, Well, Well look who is still in the playoffs. Your damn right, the Philadelphia Eagles are. We proved all experts wrong this past weekend by winning the un-winnable game. This team is, was, and will continue to be more than one player. Yes Carson Wentz is damn good, which makes the team even better when he is in there. This team is also really good without him because of the talent and they are well coached, and embody the “Team Mentality.” The game wasn’t very pretty but playoff football generally isn’t. The teams match up well and will battle it out, just like this past game. That means we are in for another tough battle this weekend when Minnesota comes to the City of Brotherly Love.
This is the game of games this weekend. Nick Foles is being treated like a second-rate citizen and we have forgotten about everything that the Eagles have done up to this point. Human nature is that we only remember the last thing that happened. So the Defense is looking good, and Nick Foles and the offense is trash, or at least that’s what the National Media, and some local media, wants you to believe. We completely dismissed Foles’s performance against the Giants as if he were playing the Delaware State Hornets. Remember when we played the Giants the first time we won with a last second 61 yard bomb of a field goal. The Giants games are always tough and you have to dismiss the records for those. Oakland was on Christmas night and the game didn’t mean much outside of wrapping up the inevitable which was home filed advantage. The coach himself admitted to calling a vanilla game plan for the final game of the year against that so called team from Texas. I am angry at how we are acting, we have folded up shop and have taken our ball home and haven’t even played the game yet. BULLSHIT I SAY, BULLSHIT!!!!!! Well here we are once again feeling the pain of being an Eagles fan. There have been videos and testimonials from fans on how we are cursed. Yes it feels that way, especially when your MVP QB goes down on a weird knee injury. No one thought he tore his ACL in that play. But here we are feeling the emotional pain as Carson feels the physical pain. The good news is that we have a backup QB that should be a starter in this league and after this late season run, he will get a new job. The Eagles are in a good spot but it is going to take a lot of work to get what we all want and that is the elusive Super Bowl Ring.
The Eagles have a nice schedule coming up that gives Nick Foles three good warm up games before heading into the playoffs. Don’t expect the offense to change much with the change at QB. Will it look a little different yes because Foles isn’t going to rip of a 15 yard run or extend the play the way Carson does. The Eagles may run a bit more this week only because the Giants can’t stop the run. The birds will easily handle the Giants this week dropping 30 plus on them.
Nick Foles will carry this team to the Super Bowl. On that day anything can happen. Foles is playing to prove he is a starting QB, playing to prove he deserves a new contract, playing to get his own team. The shame of it is that it could be the Giants that end up with him. It’s likely that Eli is out in NY and they are going to want to get a young QB to play for them. Foles will be a good transition QB until the rookie, who ever that may be, is ready to go in NY.
In Foles we trust. I will publish my piece this week that was about Carson taking us to the Superbowl and beating Brady at his own game winning it late which would have been the passing of the torch from Brady to Wentz. And no I didn’t jinx the Birds or Carson with the writing. Well Maybe a little. My BAD!!!!
Eagles win easily today 38 – 13. 13 is being generous.
P.S Sorry for the short right up, I was hungover and had to stop in the middle of it. The items in my body didn’t want to be there anymore.
Well last week the Birds did the exact opposite of what it was going to take to win against the Seahawks. They didn’t protect the ball, they didn’t protect the QB, they couldn’t run effectively, and they surely didn’t contain Russell Wilson. They clearly had issues with the noise in that stadium and now you can see why home field advantage is so important. Congrats to the Seahawks. On to the Rams.
Moving a team back to L.A was a horrible idea, and moving two teams may have been one of the dumbest things that the NFL has ever done. It’s so bad that they had to put out an open casting call for people to act like Rams fans for the broadcast on Sunday. They had to do this because the Eagles will be playing a home game on the road because so many fans are going to attend. Great job NFL.
Todays theme will be to run the ball, run the ball, run the ball. If you didn’t understand what I was saying earlier RUN THE BALL. The Rams are 27th against the run. The Eagles are #2 in rush offense. Keeping the Rams offense off the field will be key to getting this victory. The Rams like to get out of the huddle quickly so that Head Coach McVay can read the defense and relay the options into Goff. In the QB’s helmet the coach can talk to the QB until there is 17 seconds left on the play clock then the ear piece turns off. The Rams use this to their full advantage. It will be key for the Eagles to disguise their defense until that time. If they show anything to early then they could get torched.
Defensively the Eagles will have to get after and frustrate the young QB. They need to force him to make quick decisions in the pocket and flush him out to his weak side. Doing this will likely lead to a couple of turn overs. This is all predicated on the fact that the Eagles D will have to stop Todd Gurley. If you don’t stop him it will be a long day. The good thing is that we have the #1 rush defense.
I expect the Eagles to show some passion this week and show off Carson and that run game a bit. Carson is the better of the two QB’s playing today and he will prove it.
Final Score 27 – 17 Eagles.
Ajayi goes off for 100 plus yards today.
Well the battle tested team won this game. The Seahawks took advantage of some soft play calling in the first half as well as mistakes and missed plays by the Eagles. Early on Carson missed a wide open Nelson Agholor. Later he the game he fumbled out the back of the end zone. They struggled to deal with the crowd noise and couldn’t make adjustments at the line of scrimmage. This just proves how important home field advantage is going to be. The birds need to come back next week and beat the Rams in LA. The will have the feel of a playoff game as well. The good news is that the Vikings will have to go to Carolina and play. Hopefully the Panthers can do a solid for us and take out the Vikings. The Eagles needed a game like this, it would have been better for them to win but they now see how difficult it is to play this time of year especially when the opponent is desperate and hungry for a win. No time to dwell on this loss, move on and get ready for the Rams.
The Eagles have become the talk of the town and the best team in the NFL. Well over the next two weeks they will have a chance to prove it. Over the next two weeks the birds will have to travel out west first to play the Seahawks and then to take on the Rams. This will challenge the Eagles in so many ways yet if they can come out on top they will with out a doubt be the favorite to go all the way.
The Eagles have just resigned Alshon Jeffrey to a 4 year extension. Once again the Eagles are using the blue print that was set by the Seahawks when they realized they had a franchise QB in Russell Wilson. The blue print is sign your talent early and set the contracts to expire around the time that you will need to pay the young QB big money. This gives the team the ability to be extremely competitive over the next 4 years. By then if Carson is everything we think he is then we will have no problem being competitive for the next decade or more. The signing of Jerningan was just another example of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles aren’t done. I am also glad that they don’t care about re-working contracts in the middle of the season. There is no rule that you have to wait, get it while it’s good.
So for the game this weekend we will talk about some of the struggles the Eagles may face going into a hostile environment like the Seattle.
- You have to travel out west which is always problematic.
- You are going to Seattle which has been has the toughest place to play in December the last few years, its loud, its passionate, and we can’t take it over with Eagles fans.
- Russell Wilson is playing his best football right now.
- The noise will make the Eagles have to use more silent count. This could lead to more false starts.
- Seahawks Need this win, because they want to reach the Rams who we happen to play the very next week.
So with the struggles that will exist there are some positives for the Eagles which will help them out this week.
- They are 4-1 on the road this season.
- They kill the run game, and the Seahawks are currently ranked 20th in rush offense. Not good for them.
- The Eagles are going to force Russell Wilson to beat us through the air and since the return of Darby the Eagles are only looking better and better.
- The Eagles front seven is almost unstoppable at this point.
- The Birds are only the 5th Team in NFL history to throw 28 TD’s and rush for more than 1600 yards through 11 games. That is amazing because they have yet to have a single back go over 100 yards in a game.
With all of this being said and the numbers slightly favoring the Eagles, this game will be tough, it will be a defensive battle against an up and coming team and a battled tested team. The Seahawks know how to win during this time of the year. It will be a tough first half of football as the two team go through the chess match of figuring out each other. I don’t expect the birds to begin to pull away until the 4th quarter. This is when the run game will begin to wear down the Seahawks and the Carson starts to sling the rock.
Predictions for the game
- Carson two more touchdowns one to Ertz and one to Alshon.
- Three backs will have 50 or more yards rushing, and at least one TD.
- Two Interceptions by the Defense.
- Three sacks, Jerningan, Graham, and Cox.
Final: 24 – 17 Eagles. This will be fun to watch.
Last week proved that the Eagles are by far the best team in the NFC East. They are still on a crash course to meet the Falcons, Vikings, or Saints in the Playoffs. Hopefully the Eagles can stay ahead of all of them and get home field advantage throughout the playoffs. They dismantled the Cowboys in a way that broke their spirits, some players even gave up which was noticed by the national media and players on the field. Once the Cowboys got past their scripted plays they really began to fall apart. Prescott currently isn’t a QB that can manage a game or handle in-game adjustments. Carson was clearly a better QB and people can now stop arguing in defense of Prescott.
This week will look similar to last week in that the Bears will come out and move the ball a little with their scripted plays, normally in the 12-15 play range, and once they get past that the game will fall apart for them. The biggest issue is that they are a run first and pretty much only offense, and we love stopping the run. Trubisky doesn’t have the ability to carry a football team. He really shouldn’t either since he is a rookie on a bad team. The Eagles win this one easily today by dominating the clock, ground, and on defense.
Hey everyone there are a couple of things that we as fans need to stop doing.
- Each week can’t be a trap game so stop saying
- Say the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl. Once you embrace this you’ll have more fun
- It’s not our job as fans to “worry about the next game” you can say we are going all the way.
Predictions for this game
- Eagles sack the QB 4 times
- Carson with 3 TD’s today
- Jay Ajayi will reach the end zone with a 30+ yard run.
- Carson will not have to play the end of the Game
- Eagles win this one 37 – 10
