This is my 2nd brew from Straight to Ale Brewing Company. This week we try their “Stop Work 689.” I hope it is as good as the Hefe I had a couple of weeks ago. The logo on the can appears to be a Foreman for the Devil. No grievances here boss you keep making dem good brews.
Hell to the Yeah!!!!! Dude what a time to be alive with one brewery after another opening up these days. Saturday we finally got to visit Midnight Oil Brewing Company. Click the blue link to check them out. I had heard a lot of great things and finally headed over to check them our for myself. This is a brewery that is young, hungry, and not afraid to put in the hard work.
Mason Ale Works is a brewery out of San Marcos, California founded in 2015. The logo looks like Thors hammer and makes me feel like a Norse God when I am drinking this delicious brew. This week we are trying their “Willy Time’ white ale.
This week we are trying Straight to Ale Brewing Company’s “He Ain’t Hefe.” These guys were founded in 09 and are located in Huntsville, Alabama. My buddy Mike highly recommends stopping there if you are driving through. They are housed in a vacant middle school where they have changed the beer game in Alabama. Thanks for making great brews boys.
Summer is almost here and so are those delicious summer styled brews. Many of the beers are Belgian-Style White ales that have that touch of Orange in em. Cigar City Brewing Company out of Florida gives us Florida Cracker.
Man am I glad the weather is starting to break. It is so nice to be able to go outside and enjoy the weather. This week the wife got her tickets to the Eagles Women’s Day, we enjoyed some good brews, made some awesome food, did some yard work, and just had a damn good week.
This weeks featured brew is River Horse Brewing Company’s Roly Poly.
Style: Czech-Style Pilsner
River Horse brewery is located in the wonderful state of New Jersey. I hope you could hear the sarcasm in that first sentence. Go check their site out to see a little brew history on why they choose the Hippo, it’s pretty cool. This place originally started in 95 and got a revamp in 07. They make a wide variety of brews and this was the first for me to try. I would say this was an average brew that didn’t blow me away. Its one of those beers that I can just keep in the garage fridge. It had good color and decent flavor. I have another brew from them that we will be trying in two weeks. So look for that, it’s an Amber Ale.
Featured Beer: Nut Crusher Peanut Butter Porter 6% ABV and only 18 IBU’s.
This weeks brew comes from Redmond, Oregon from Wild Ride Brewing Company. These guys have been around since 2014 serving up great beers. I don’t normally grab Porters, especially those with crazy flavors. This beer claimed to be basically a peanut butter cup in a bottle. I have to give these dudes credit this thing was good. The peanut butter was subtle and the beer went down well. I was surprised that it was so good. I can’t tell you that I will ever crave this beer but it was nice for Easter Weekend. If your into Porter’s and Porters with peanut butter flavor I highly suggest this one. Plus there is an elephant on water ski’s on the label. So there’s that.
DRINKS OF THE WEEK, DRINKS OF THE WEEK ,Drinka;l of the dweek Daba Daba Dopa Peak.
Sorry I started that chant while a bit hammered. Now that we have sobered up a bit let’s get to the brews. This week’s featured beer is Polestar Pilsner from Left Hand Brewing Company. These guys have been around since 1993 from Colorado. Head over to their site and read the history it’s pretty cool.
Featured this week is one last one from 16 Mile Brewing Company. This week we went with the Brown Tiller. 6.1% ABV and 13 IBU’s which gives you that fall beer flavor. This came at a good time because that bitch Mother Nature decided to drop a damn Nor Easter on us. She needs to knock this shit off. Some one needs to get her a man to occupy her time so she can stop giving us weird ass weather.
Tiller Brown has nice color and a smooth flavor. This English Brown ale is delicious and deserves a spot in the Garage Fridge. I don’t normally go with beer like this but like I said earlier it came at the right time. I sat an enjoyed this full bodied beer while listening to some easy going music and reading. I encourage you to pick some up.
