DOW (Drinks of the Week) Rusty Rail “Blue Collar Blonde”

I am currently drinking a tall glass of chocolate milk while I write this post.  No seriously it is good as shit.  Yeah some days I am a child, well most days.  Whatever.  Enough of the chocolate milk talk and onto our second installment from the Rusty Rail Brewing Company.  We in enjoyed the Blue Collar Blonde Ale which was much better than the Peanut Butter Hefe we had two weeks ago (Fools Gold).  If your ever in Mifflinburg, PA stop in and check these guys out.Continue Reading

DOW (Drinks of the Week) Featured Brew: Rusty Rail “Fools Gold”

Wow, did we really kicked off summer the right way.  I ate a ton of good food and had some good brews.  The featured brew this week is “Fools Gold” from The Rusty Rail Brewing Company  These guys are located in Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania and have become a great destination in central PA.  Rusty Rail is a tribute to the old railway that once ran through the town.  They haven’t been around long but are already making their mark in the brew industry.  PROST!!!!Continue Reading

DOW (Drinks of the Week) Featured Brew: Beer’d Brewing Company’s “Whisker’d Wit”

What a great week I had gallivanting around Connecticut.  I drank a bunch of different beers and met some cool people along the way.  I tried to go to a couple of brewers yet found that either they weren’t open or may not even exist yet.  It’s good though because I landed my hoppy self at Beer’d Brewing Company and enjoyed some of their fine products.  The best that night was the Whisker’d Wit which I enjoyed while talking shop with BG and DP.  Continue Reading

DOW (Drinks of the Week) Featured Brew: Alamo Beer’s Amber Lager

We had a little bit of a delay with this weeks DOW that we will have to blame on technical difficulties.  Yeah we will go with that, tech issues.  This weeks featured brew comes from the great state of Texas.  Alamo Beer Company is located in San Antonio Texas only  about a half mile from, well you guessed it the Alamo.  The history of this company goes back a bit, but it’s rebirth and the brew we know now started back up in 1997.  Eugene Simor is the founder of the revived Alamo and has been making some awesome brews for some time.  This week we drink the Amber Lager, a Vienna Style Lager.  Cheers Boys!!!!Continue Reading

DOW (Drinks of the Week) Featured Brew: Straight to Ale – He Ain’t Hefe

This week we are trying Straight to Ale Brewing Company’s “He Ain’t Hefe.”    These guys were founded in 09 and are located in Huntsville, Alabama.  My buddy Mike highly recommends stopping there if you are driving through.  They are housed in a vacant middle school where they have changed the beer game in Alabama.  Thanks for making great brews boys. Continue Reading

DOW (Drinks of the Week) Featured: River Horse Special Ale

This week we hit the second River Horse Brewing beer with their American Amber Ale also known as Special Ale.  IMG_4075.jpg

The Facts:

ABV: 5.5%

IBU: 22

My unsophisticated take on it:  It’s an amber ale like many other amber ale’s.  Not bad, I don’t know if  it will ever stick out in my mind like some other beers.  I liked their Roly Poly a bit more.  The boys from Jersey do have some other styles I would like to give a shot before I dismiss them from entering my Garage Fridge again.  They have a pumpkin I’ll try this fall and a Summer Blonde that I will track down some time this summer.  Keep up the good work boys.Continue Reading
