Well the battle tested team won this game. The Seahawks took advantage of some soft play calling in the first half as well as mistakes and missed plays by the Eagles. Early on Carson missed a wide open Nelson Agholor. Later he the game he fumbled out the back of the end zone. They struggled to deal with the crowd noise and couldn’t make adjustments at the line of scrimmage. This just proves how important home field advantage is going to be. The birds need to come back next week and beat the Rams in LA. The will have the feel of a playoff game as well. The good news is that the Vikings will have to go to Carolina and play. Hopefully the Panthers can do a solid for us and take out the Vikings. The Eagles needed a game like this, it would have been better for them to win but they now see how difficult it is to play this time of year especially when the opponent is desperate and hungry for a win. No time to dwell on this loss, move on and get ready for the Rams.
The Eagles have become the talk of the town and the best team in the NFL. Well over the next two weeks they will have a chance to prove it. Over the next two weeks the birds will have to travel out west first to play the Seahawks and then to take on the Rams. This will challenge the Eagles in so many ways yet if they can come out on top they will with out a doubt be the favorite to go all the way.
The Eagles have just resigned Alshon Jeffrey to a 4 year extension. Once again the Eagles are using the blue print that was set by the Seahawks when they realized they had a franchise QB in Russell Wilson. The blue print is sign your talent early and set the contracts to expire around the time that you will need to pay the young QB big money. This gives the team the ability to be extremely competitive over the next 4 years. By then if Carson is everything we think he is then we will have no problem being competitive for the next decade or more. The signing of Jerningan was just another example of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Eagles aren’t done. I am also glad that they don’t care about re-working contracts in the middle of the season. There is no rule that you have to wait, get it while it’s good.
So for the game this weekend we will talk about some of the struggles the Eagles may face going into a hostile environment like the Seattle.
- You have to travel out west which is always problematic.
- You are going to Seattle which has been has the toughest place to play in December the last few years, its loud, its passionate, and we can’t take it over with Eagles fans.
- Russell Wilson is playing his best football right now.
- The noise will make the Eagles have to use more silent count. This could lead to more false starts.
- Seahawks Need this win, because they want to reach the Rams who we happen to play the very next week.
So with the struggles that will exist there are some positives for the Eagles which will help them out this week.
- They are 4-1 on the road this season.
- They kill the run game, and the Seahawks are currently ranked 20th in rush offense. Not good for them.
- The Eagles are going to force Russell Wilson to beat us through the air and since the return of Darby the Eagles are only looking better and better.
- The Eagles front seven is almost unstoppable at this point.
- The Birds are only the 5th Team in NFL history to throw 28 TD’s and rush for more than 1600 yards through 11 games. That is amazing because they have yet to have a single back go over 100 yards in a game.
With all of this being said and the numbers slightly favoring the Eagles, this game will be tough, it will be a defensive battle against an up and coming team and a battled tested team. The Seahawks know how to win during this time of the year. It will be a tough first half of football as the two team go through the chess match of figuring out each other. I don’t expect the birds to begin to pull away until the 4th quarter. This is when the run game will begin to wear down the Seahawks and the Carson starts to sling the rock.
Predictions for the game
- Carson two more touchdowns one to Ertz and one to Alshon.
- Three backs will have 50 or more yards rushing, and at least one TD.
- Two Interceptions by the Defense.
- Three sacks, Jerningan, Graham, and Cox.
Final: 24 – 17 Eagles. This will be fun to watch.
Well it’s that time of year again, Eagles vs. Cowboys. This week marks that point in the season when trash talking is normally at its highest point but for some reason the Cowboy fans have been a little quite this year. I wonder if it’s because they realize that the season is over. That the injuries have finally caught up, that the suspension of Zeke is just too much, and that they have the inferior quarterback. Asking Prescott to carry the team is too much to ask of the young man. Plus having no talent at the left tackle will enable the Eagles to get to the young QB all day.
I almost feel bad for what is about to happen. Many believe that this is the game that the Cowboys get back on track. The story sounds good, a banged up team who is desperate for a win. The Narrative of writing how the Cowboys overcame so much to get the big win basically writes itself. But in the end it’s just a fictional story, something that you hope to tell your kids at night so that they sleep well.
I am sorry to break the news but this is going to be a nightmare for the Cowboys. Like Freddy Krueger huanting them in their dreams. The Eagles are coming off a bye week and only got healthier. Ronald Darby is back and Jay Ajayi has had more time to get into the play book. The Eagles are going to go down to Dallas and tear them apart. The Eagles will pressure Prescott all day, destroy what running game they have left, and shred the defense with an amazingly balanced offensive attack. The Eagles are built for a run in the post season and the Cowboys are built to watch it from their Lazy Boy chairs.
The Eagles will dominate the clock today with a heavy dose of Ajayi and Blount. This will break the will and spirit of the Cowboys. Carson will throw at least two more TD’s today brining him to 25 TD’s on the season. Ajayi gets in the end zone again and has over 100 yards on the ground. Blount also gets in today with a goal line score. The Cowboys are done for this year and after Sunday night the whole nation will get to see it.
Final Score 33-10. Eagles
The Eagles are in for a tough defensive game this week with the Denver Broncos coming to town. They match up well on defense and with the LT Jason Peters out expect the Broncos to throw a lot at Big V, yes big V because his name is to hard for most people to pronounce. Oh you don’t think so, well here try it out. Halapoulivaati Vaitai (pronounced hal-lah-poo-lee-VAH-tee VIE-tie), yeah even with the pronunciation help you still screwed it up. Any way, they are going to throw a lot his way not because he sucks but because he isn’t Jason Peters. He may be one day just not today. This will be okay because we can offset the blitz with quick passes and a fluid running game.
Wait!!!!!!! Did some one say running game, hell yeah. Jay Ajayi, welcome to Philly big dog. We are already the #5 rushing team in the NFL and with the addition of Ajayi we will be the number 1 team over the next 8 games. Ajayi is coming off a short practice week which means he will get some designed carries. I expect him to run the ball 10-15 times at most. I do think he will find the end-zone. Being able to run the ball effectively will offset the blitz packages that are sure to come. Plus its age-old tactics in football that you use the run to set up the pass. Did someone say pass, oh yeah that’s right we have the MVP from the first half of the season in Carson Wentz who is nasty on third downs and just so happens to lead the league in TD passes. Sorry Deshaun Watson, it would have been nice to see you and Carson battle for that top spot. You two are the wave of the future in this league.
The Eagles will struggle a little in the beginning but ultimately take care of business. The statue known as Brock Osweiler will turn the ball over at least twice, and get sacked at least 3 times in the game. Eagles will drop over 20 points in this one continuing their streak of 20+ points in a game to 13 straight games dating back to last season.
Final Score in this 24-13. Eagles of Course.
This game has all the markings to be a huge ass whoopin. Let’s just break down some of the Rankings for both teams.
- 49ers Offense is #23 in the rush. Eagles Defense is # 1 Against the run. ( Edge Eagles)
- 49ers Defense is #29 against the rush. Eagles Offense is #4 in the run ( Edge Eagles )
- 49ers Defense is #32 against 3rd down conv. Eagles offense is # 1 for 3rd down conv. ( Edge Eagles)
Listen the list goes on and on in favor of the Eagles. The 49ers have to travel to the East coast and play in conditions that will be favorable to the run game. It’s supposed to rain Sunday which means we should see the ball in the running backs hands a lot. This game isn’t even going to be close. The Eagles will dominate the game clock and run the ball most of the day. The Eagles will easily reach their 6th straight victory and start to prepare for the Broncos to come to town.
Lastly I would like to address all these people (Cowboy Fans) complaining about the schedule we have. Sorry but we can’t play the Patriots 16 times a season we have to play the teams on our schedule. Instead of complaining about who we are playing start complaining that these teams can’t d beat us. See you in a couple of Weeks.
Final Score 34 – 6.
The Eagles continue to impress. I am trying to hold back my excitement because I want to see them play a higher caliber of talent. Well would you look at that we get to play the Panthers this week who just so happen to 4-1 as well. This is going to be a great test for the Eagles. They have to get a quick turn and have to travel. This isn’t going to benefit the birds. Although they have been playing good football their wins have come against some week competition. The Combined record of their opponents is 10-14 with 5 of those wins belonging to the Chiefs, a game we lost. I want to get excited but I want to stay realistic also. If they find a way to pull off the victory this week then they go into a 10 day layoff and play the Redskins on Monday night Football at home. This will be tough though since they will be missing Lane Johnson and Fletcher Cox. They will need to do everything they can to keep Cam Newton off of the Field.
For the Eagles to win they will have to dominate the play clock by running the football and converting those third downs. Cam is hot in his last couple games throwing over 670 yards and 6 touchdowns with both games on the road. This week he is home and unlike the LA Chargers his fans will be there for him. If the Eagles allow him to get on the field to often at some point he will burn them. Carolina is only allowing 194 Yards of passing this season which is ranked 5th in the league. The Run isn’t much better either, they are only allowing 79 yards a game. It’s these reasons that the Eagles will have a difficult time this week. Don’t get down on them though they will follow up with a convincing win against those Redskins on Monday night October 23.
FINAL SCORE 24 – 20 Carolina
Eagles squeezed out a great win last week against those hated Giants. Jake Elliot made the field goal of a life time from 61 yards out. That may have been the back breaker for the Giants season. The score didn’t go the way I thought but they did get the win and Corey Clement got a touchdown. I figured he would see some time but didn’t think he would get in the end zone.
This week the Eagles a trap game. The Chargers have lost their last 8 games but by small margins. They just keep finding ways to lose. The Eagles have to travel out west after a big emotional division game. The smart bet would be to go with the Chargers at home, if you can call that a home. The Chargers are #11 in Pass offense and the Birds are #25 against the pass. If they can’t keep Phillip Rivers off the field then he is going to touch our secondary. Fletcher Cox is out this week which means Timmy Jernigan will draw the double team. If the front four can’t get pressure it will cause for a long day.
The way to keep Rivers off the field will be to control the clock and run the football. The Chargers are #31 against the run this year. That will be the achilles heal this week. The Eagles have to run the ball, I say again they have to run the football. Expect a heavy dose of Blount, Smallwood, and Clement this week. Hopefully the Eagles will have more runs then passes this week. Crazy I know, every expects Carson to throw 50 passes each week. If they are truly game planning their opponents each week then they will run the ball.
This weeks prediction is Eagles 24 Chargers 17. Go Birds.
Last week we got the winning score right just the wrong team. Some will argue this week that the birds are getting into a trap game but that isn’t the case. The Eagles will handle the Giants easily today. The Giants can’t stop the run or the rush. Expect Barnett to get another sack today and hopefully we see a lot of Blount today. I think we will see Cory Clement should get a few touches also. Today’s score 30-10. Go Birds.
Last week was a great way to kick off the NFL season. The Chiefs beat the brakes off of the Pats. The Eagles worked over the Redskins. My prediction last week was 33-13 and we got real close to that. I told you that Carson would go over 300 and two TD’s which he did. I missed on Alston as Josh Norman locked him down almost all day. No worries though.
If everything goes right today I think the Eagles can squeeze out a close one. Carson will go for 280 plus today with two more TDs. Alshon will get his first today. Blount will see the end zone also. The Chiefs will be missing Eric Berry today and it will show. This should be a fun back and forth game will the Andy and Doug going toe to toe on their play calling. The difference today will be the Eagles defense. Expect them to bottle up Kareem Hunt and keep Hill in check on the outside. They will have to watch the screen plays. The Lbs will have to be on their toes to ensure the speedster doesn’t get to the outside.
This weeks score 27-24 Eagles. It will be a tough one.
